French for Native Speakers (from Kindergarten to 5th grade)

Petits Francophones Kindergarten & 1st grade– This class is for bilingual students. All activities are conducted in French and aim to develop rich, organized verbal language that others can understand. Children are encouraged to speak and be understood in French. They also learn to listen, comprehend, and respond appropriately. The class introduces the alphabet, phonics, and the first steps toward reading and writing in French.

Moyens Francophones 2nd to 5th grade  – This class is open to French speaking students who are starting to read and write in French. All activities are conducted in French. Children are introduced to varied and more complex texts, while learning some basic rules of grammar, spelling and conjugation. They also begin writing short texts.
