EFNY Classes will start on Wednesday, September 18th 2024, and end on Wednesday, June 11th 2025.
EFNY follows the DOE Calendar.
As spots are limited, registration is on a first come first served basis.

 Classes Description:

French for Native Speakers 

Petits Francophones K-1st grade – This class is open to bilingual students. In this class, all activities are conducted in French. It aims to develop a rich oral language, organized and understandable by others. Children learn to be attentive to messages addressed to him, to understand and respond appropriately. Students will learn the alphabet, letters sounds and will be introduced to reading and writing in French.

Moyens & Grands Francophones 2nd to 5th grade – This class is open to truly fluent in French students who are reading and writing in French. In this class, all activities are conducted in French. The students learn grammar, spelling and conjugation, read longer texts, consolidate vocabulary and verbal expression and write texts in accordance to their level in French.

 

French as Second Language    

Beginners 1 & Beginners 2 – K to 5th grade – These classes focus on verbal communication and are adapted to the comprehension skills of young learners. The goal is to bring children to express simple phrases in basic social situations, through various and fun activities such as stories, creative projects, songs and games. Groups will be organized according to students’ French knowledge. Beginners 2 must have at least 1 year of French.

 


The EFNY program follows a French-only policy in all Native Speakers classes, and students from these classes will have weekly assignments for efficient progressPlease help us with this by encouraging your child to follow these rules.
