Fall semester will begin on Tuesday, February 6th, 2024 to Tuesday, June 18th, 2024. 

As spots are limited, registration is open and is on a first come first served basis.

Classes Description:

IN PERSON:

 

French for Kindergarten (French Native Speaker & French as Second Language)

This class is an introduction to verbal communication and is adapted to the comprehension skills of young learners. The goal is to bring the children to express simple phrases in basic social situations through various activities: stories, creative projects, songs and games. They learn to be attentive to messages addressed to him, to understand and respond appropriately. The child starts the basic acquisition of the alphabet, the sounds and will be introduced to reading and writing in French.

French for Native Speakers (1st to 3rd grade)

Jeunes Francophones 1st  to 3rd graders  – This class is open to bilingual students in 1st, 2nd  & 3rd grade who are already reading in English and will be reading and writing in French. In this class, all activities are conducted in French. Students will reinforce the acquisition of reading, and writing and start to develop grammar skills. Attention will also be focused on developing a rich vocabulary and a clear verbal expression.

French as Second Language (1st &  2nd grade)      
1st & 2nd graders – beginners:  This class is an introduction to verbal communication and is adapted to the comprehension skills of young learners. The goal is to bring the children to express simple phrases in basic social situations through various activities: stories, creative projects, songs and games.

 

The EFNY program follows a French-only policy in all Francophone classes. Please help us with this by encouraging your child to follow this rule.
