Registration for the 2025-2026 year at PS527 (Upper East Side) is open.

EFNY classes will start on Thursday, September 11st 2025, and end on Thursday, June 18th 2026.

As spots are limited, registration is on a first come first served basis.

We need at least 8 registrations per class to open the program.

 Classes Description:

French for Native Speakers (from Kindergarten to 5th grade)

Petits Francophones K-1st grade – This class is open to bilingual students. All activities are conducted in French and aim to develop rich, organized verbal language that others can understand. Children are encouraged to speak and be understood in French. They also learn to listen, comprehend, and respond appropriately. The class introduces the alphabet, phonics, and the first steps toward reading and writing in French.

Moyens & Grands Francophones 2nd to 5th grade – This class is open to truly fluent in French students who are reading and writing in French. In this class, all activities are conducted in French. The students learn grammar, spelling and conjugation, read longer texts, consolidate vocabulary and verbal expression and write texts in accordance to their level in French.

French as Second Language (from Kindergarten & 1st grade)

Beginner K & 1st grade –  This class introduces verbal communication and is adapted to the comprehension level of young learners. The goal is for children to express simple phrases in basic social situations through activities such as stories, creative projects, songs, and games.


The EFNY program follows a French-only policy in all Francophone classes, and students from these classes will have weekly assignments for efficient progressPlease help us with this by encouraging your child to follow these rules.
